CPI Hotels expands its portfolio of four-star hotels

January 6, 2016

The portfolio of the country’s largest hotel group, CPI Hotels, expanded as the group took over the Prague Marriott Executive Apartments V Tůních as of 1 January 2016.  It has also been operating the Starlight Suiten Hotel in Budapest since the beginning of December.  The hotels will expand the company’s four-star hotel operations.  The Marriott Executive Apartments have been renamed Mamaison Hotel Downtown Prague and joined the Mamaison Hotels & Residences brand.  The Starlight Suiten Hotel in Budapest is slated to join it at some point in the future.

“These new hotels fit our business strategy of developing business in the higher mid-range category of hotels, which has paid for us on a sustained basis.  We will continue to focus on expanding the Mamaison brand, which is an umbrella brand primarily for apartment-type hotels.  However, we have not neglected the Clarion Hotels brand, the flagship of our portfolio, either.  We see opportunities in Prague and other regional capitals,” said Jan Kratina, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of CPI Hotels.  With this acquisition, the portfolio of hotels the company operates in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Russia has expanded to 28.

With 8,000 beds and 10,800 conference venues, it has affirmed its position as the largest Czech hotel company.  “In addition to strengthening our portfolio, we will focus on improving our services this year and invest into the renovation of our existing operations.  The three-star Spa & Kur Hotel in Františkovy Lázně will be remodelled – in six months, it will undergo a complete overhaul of both exteriors and interiors.  We will also be upgrading rooms to the Superior and Deluxe standard at our Liberec Clarion Grandhotel Zlatý Lev,” added Jan Kratina.

CPI Hotels is seen as the fastest-developing group in the Czech Republic.  Aside from its original brand, Fortuna Hotels, and the Clarion and Buddha-Bar Hotels & Resorts brands, it launched its own spa hotel brand Spa & Kur Hotels in Františkovy Lázně in 2012 and included the collection of Mamaison Hotels & Residences in its portfolio in 2014.
